    Following his exit from the governorship race, Ojeshina criticized the “slow pace of governance” under Governor Dapo Abiodun, saying it had caused real hardship for residents. He argued that Ogun State had long been regarded as a model of corporate governance for other states to emulate, but had been losing that standing, and urged the governor to take immediate steps to address the situation.

    As SDP's consensus candidate, Ojeshina repeatedly framed his campaign around freeing Ogun State from dependence on federal allocation, arguing the state's industrial and agricultural potential could make it fiscally self-sufficient.
