Career

A 40+ Year Professional Journey

From research chemist in the United States to international environmental consultant, public servant, and boardroom leader.

Ojeshina's career began in 1980 as a Research & Development Chemist in the United States, and progressed through technical and executive roles in American environmental and manufacturing firms — Quality Control/Quality Assurance Manager, Technical Director, and Vice President of Engineering Services — before he became President & CEO of his own firm, Josef Ross Energy & Environmental Inc., in 1992, operating in both the USA and Nigeria.

In 1995 he became Managing Director/CEO of Global Environmental Technology Ltd, a role he stepped away from only for his 2003–2007 term as Ogun State's pioneer Commissioner for Environment, before returning as CEO in 2007 — a position he still holds today.

Alongside his environmental consulting practice, he has built a career in insurance, pensions, and finance: as Chairman of the Board of Glanvill Enthoven Insurance Company Ltd (2007–2011) — a 57-year-old leading Nigerian insurance firm — and as a director of Veritas Glanvills Pensions Ltd from 2008 to 2021, the pension fund administration company he helped establish as a joint venture with Unity Bank and Feature View Financial Services.

He currently chairs Xath Resources Limited (solid minerals extraction), and is a director of Level 4 Resources Ltd (venture capital), MSI Global Concept Ltd (waste management), and Global Gas & Refinery Inc., a US-based oil and gas company. He chairs the Board of Trustees of the D.S. Adegbenro Foundation, and is a partner in the Fairways Group, a property development company in St Kitts & Nevis, through which he has assisted Nigerians in enrolling in the islands' Citizenship by Investment Program.

Having lived and studied in the United States for over 21 years, he was a volunteer for several US Congress members and Representatives during their election campaigns, and has since used his political and business connections to build networks between African countries, the United States, and the Caribbean. For this work, he received the GREAT HERO Award — NICRI Nation Building, Life Changer AfriCaribbean Award — from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, in recognition of his role unifying business relationships between Nigeria and the Caribbean Islands.
